Run Like Hell Update

Well, yesterday was the big day. I didn't have to wake up terribly early for the race, because the start time wasn't until 9. My friend picked me up around 8 and we were at the cemetery by 8:30, my aunt and uncle were already there and so were my other friends that were running the race. This was my uncle's first race and he was pretty nervous/excited. Unfortunately, the weather did not really cooperate, it was about 57 degrees and rainy. The weather didn't dampen the atmosphere though, everyone was in a great mood and all the costumes made the race so much fun! I wore a tutu and a tiara, there were other costumes way more creative! I think my favorite was the group of 6 dressed like a 6pack of Bud Light, a little girl and her dad were dressed as Lady Mary and Lord Grantham, and I really enjoyed the person in flannel pajamas dressed as a sock monkey.

I was a little nervous when we got to the start line, because the race started on a hill. It became very obvious that I had underestimated what the hills were going to be like for the race. Once the race started it took us a few minutes to cross the start line just because there were so many people in front of us, and we were in the middle of the pack. My group of friends and I all separated to run at our own pace, and about a .5 mile in I was on my own. I was a complete scatter brain and forgot my armband and headphones at home, so I was running alone and couldn't even listen to music. I did something to my knee earlier in the week, but rested for two days before the race and thought I would be okay. I had some pain while I was running, but I was so focused on getting over the hills that I tried to ignore it. Really though I just focused on finishing because I really needed to go to the bathroom lol.

Overall, the race was a great experience and I had my best time yet! They yelled 36:20 as I crossed the finish line, so I guess that I my official time.  That is a full minute faster than my last race. When I turned my Nike app off though it said I had actually ran 3.5 miles in 36:59 and a 32:02 time for a 5k(3.1 mi). That is a huge improvement for me. I was able to run most of this race and in general felt a lot better during the race than I did during my last race. Running in the cold was new for me and it took me a while to get my breathing to a comfortable place. A few hours after the race I began to have some really intense knee pain and it hasn't really let up. I've been rotating heat and ice, keeping it elevated, and I did an Epsom salt bath, we'll see what happens.

Here are some pictures from the race!

Race Tshirt (I wont be sporting this one at work)

Ashleigh and I waiting to start

My friends and I at the start line, these women inspire me!

When we go to this hill in the race I literally yelled, "What the hell is this?!" Hung my head and walked up.

About to cross the finish line, it felt really great to see my aunt and my friends husbands there cheering me on!

Ashleigh and I after the race, this was her first 5k and she rocked it!

I hope everyone has a great week!

2 Days Until Run Like Hell

Run Like Hell is less than two days away! I'm not sure I'm ready, but I'm very excited. I have been more consistent with how often I've gone running the past few weeks, and in general I feel pretty good going into this. I have several friends doing the race, so that is only adding to the excitement. I know things will be great with my friends there because we will encourage each other and help push each other when things get hard. I'm also very excited to see all the costumes! I'm not exactly wearing a costume, but I do have a tutu that will make its first appearance. I'm considering getting a tiara and going for a "princess" look. I have had some knee pain this week so I'm not sure if I will get a run in tonight or not, but I really feel like I need to. Tuesday night, thanks to a good friend, I was able to complete 4 miles! That is the farthest I have ever ran, and I felt like I would have to stop after two miles. Thanks to the support and encouragement from my friend I completed all four and didn't slow her down too much. Finishing those four miles was a great feeling.

Thank Goodness for a Day Off

Happy Monday everyone, I only say that because I'm not working! This day off couldn't have come at a better time. We had a busy weekend!

Friday morning, I received a message from someone offering us two free tickets to Auburn's homecoming game on Saturday. I immediately went into action trying to make it happen. After a few hours, the plan was set and we would be heading to the "Loveliest Village on the Plains" to cheer on the Tigers! I was so excited, this was the first time I had been to a game in 3 years and Pete's first Auburn game ever! We woke up super early to get our tailgate food ready and to make the trip down. We were in Auburn by 10 A.M. and spent the morning eating and tailgating. Actually, all we did Saturday was eat! Our seats were club level so there was tons of free food and drinks. I think we ate our weight in food! After the game, we made sure to make our way to Toomer's corner to get a lemonade and to see the corner being rolled. We ended up getting back home around 11 P.M. We had a wonderful day!

Pete and I outside Jordan-Hare Stadium before the game.

At Toomer's corner after the game.

Our view of the field.

Sunday was spent with family. We did our best to sleep in yesterday and then got ready to head to our youngest nephew's second birthday party! He was absolutely adorable opening his gifts, and his cake had blue icing on it so he precious little face and blonde hair were blue for the rest of the day. After the party we helped get all the presents into his room and then had dinner with friends and family. I think we went to bed around 9 last night, we were so exhausted!

In other news, Run Like Hell is 5 days away! I used Saturday and Sunday as rest days so I really need to get a good run in today. Thursday and Friday I did make it out and I had a decent run both nights. Friday had to be cut short because it was just too dark, Thursday I did my fastest mile. I chalk that up to almost stepping on a snake about a 1/4 of a mile in.

In even more exciting news I have registered for the Cinderella Royal Family 5k at Disneyworld. The race is February 21st, and is the weekend of the Princess Half Marathon. I would have loved to register for the half and get my ass into gear training, but the 5k was the only race with space open. I am so excited about this, it combines two things I love, running and Disney!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Another One Down

Yesterday I did my third 5k. This one was near where my dad and brothers live, the only reason I did this one was because my brother found it for me. He said it was time I did a race close by so that they could come and watch me. Pete ended up being able to come to this one as well, I was very happy to have people there waiting for me to cross the finish line. I was told the the course was flat and fast, I was not fast however. As excited as I was to have family there watching me, it also made me a little nervous. I wanted to do well, so that they would be proud of me. As the race started I turned on my app that I typically use to keep track of everything during workouts/races, but it seems that this app didn't like the iOS upgrade. By the time I had finished the first mile my app had only tracked 1/4 of a mile. I decided to turn it off and just go on my own. The race was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, there were a ton of people there. I ended up finishing in 37:24. Not my best time, but still not too bad. I think I was the 158th finisher. Now its time to keep training and get ready for Run Like Hell!

Weekend Recap: When did we get so old?

Well, we made it through Monday. That is about the most positive thing I can say about today. We found out Friday that my mom will be having hand surgery this coming Friday so I called her to get all the information and the check on her. While I was talking to her my dad called twice, left a voicemail, and a text. Then my husband called, and then my aunt. My dad was calling to invite us to dinner with some extended family members, Pete was calling to tell me he would be home early, and my aunt was calling to check on my mom and get info. So, as soon as Pete walked in the door we left for our family dinner, which was very nice. While at dinner I found out that my oldest nephew had his first soccer game on Saturday, so that immediately changed my Saturday plans. After dinner Pete and I just enjoyed actually being able to spend an evening together.

Saturday morning after Pete went to work I bummed around, before getting off my butt. I figured since it actually felt like fall and I have two 5ks coming up I needed to do something. My run was less than a mile and was actually more of a walk, but at least I got off my ass. Then it was time for the soccer game. It was easily the most adorable thing I have ever seen, and my nephew smiled the entire game! He was so happy to be playing and considering he is 5, he was very good! After the game, I had lunch with my dad, brothers, and sister-in-law. We live almost an hour apart so these things don't happen all the time and I really enjoy them when they do.
 warming up

proud auntie

While I was at the game Pete called to let me know that his boss was having people over to watch the boxing match. Because of my job, we don't get to go out very often, so this was a great opportunity for us. We went over around 9, there was tons of food and great conversation. We left around 2 AM after the fight ended. Sunday when I woke up I felt like I had been hit by a truck! Don't get me wrong, we didn't get trashed or anything like that. Its just that, we NEVER go out anymore. So staying out as late as we did was a total shock to my system. I slept until 10 AM yesterday, which was nice, but it didn't help. I was dragging all day. It got worse when it was time to go to bed, because I had slept so late I couldn't go to bed early. That made for a very rough morning.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and that yall have a wonderful week!

Run Like HELL

I am beyond excited right now! A few weeks ago, a very good friend texted me about finding a 5k to do together. I was very excited about this idea, because both of the races I've participated in I ran alone. I didn't have anyone waiting at the finish line for me either. The idea of running with her made me so excited, I knew that it would be great because we would feed off of each other and encourage each other till the end. Well, earlier this week she told me she would be doing the Run Like Hell 5k in October, I have had my eye on this race for months now! It is a 5k through the BEAUTIFUL and historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta! Plus it is just one week before my birthday! When she told me she was doing this race I knew that I HAD to register.

The race website has a ton of pictures from last year's race and it looks like so much fun. The cemetery is gorgeous, tons of people in costumes, and beautiful fall weather. I've been looking at the page every day this week, just waiting for pay day. And guess what? That came today! I just registered for the Run Like Hell 5k! I didn't think I could ever be this excited about running. The only way I could possibly be more excited is if I were going to Disney World for one of their races, but maybe that will happen next year.

So now, along with actually getting ready for the race, I also need to start thinking about a costume! I love dressing up for Halloween, so I can't pass the opportunity to dress up for this race! I'm really hoping to be able to DIY a Disney princess costume. I would like to be able to either do Rapunzel or Merida! There are some you can order on Etsy, but those are a little pricey. We'll see what I come up with!

If you're in the Atlanta area you should consider checking out this event!

Adjusting

Well, I made it through the first day of work after a long weekend. Last year those days always seemed like the hardest. My weekend was actually 3 1/2 days, Friday I took the afternoon off to take my mom to a doctor's appointment, run errands for her, and go to a doctor's appointment of my own. I'm sure though, if you asked my co-workers they would have told you I was going on vacation, I was not a popular person because I had that afternoon "off."

During my appointment I found out that my birth control injection is the reason behind some awful things I have been dealing with lately. Things like my hair coming out in handful when I shower, night sweats, and hot flashes. Yeah, I've been a fun person to live with lately. I really don't know what to do though. I have experienced nasty, horrible side effects from every birth control I have been on in recent years. The only reason I stay on it is because I experience other awful things when I'm not on it. I feel like there is no winning in the situation, and I'm not sure I made the right choice by getting my injection again on Friday.

Friday morning Pete left to work out of town again. This is his third trip since June, and I hate to say that its getting "easier," but I am adjusting. I feel like this trip has gone by faster than the others and I am developing a routine for while he is gone. It still sucks to not have him home, but it doesn't feel as terrible as it did the first time he left. But, once again, the day he left one of our dogs got sick. This is the second time this has happened and it makes me wonder whats going on. I really hope this doesn't continue!

I am so happy with my results from yesterday's 5k! I made sure to wear my t-shirt to work today and tell a few co-workers about the race. However, I am very sore! I started my day by taking ibuprofen and I'm pretty sure my day will end the same way. I don't usually get shin splints, but I am definitely experiencing them today. I can't complain too much though because its my own fault. I haven't been training at all. I honestly haven't even been out for a run since the first 5k I did a month ago. This pain should be good motivation for me to get my ass of the couch and keep training. I really want to work on my endurance, its very humbling to have a man in his 70's finish a race way before you do. Never mind the fact that the first 10k finisher crossed the line less than 2 minutes after me.

I hope everyone has a great week!

My Second 5K

Today I did my second 5K! I was nervous going into it because I haven't been training, I didn't register until this morning, and this was a bigger race than my first one. Thankfully, the weather was very comfortable, it almost felt like fall, and the rain held off until after the race. I didn't get a good look at the course map before the race, I won't make the mistake again. Almost all of the second miles was up hill! I wasn't ready for that. I was feeling pretty happy just to finish the race, then I noticed that I had taken just over 2 minutes off my time! I decided to stick around for the awards ceremony and to my surprise I finished 3rd in my age group! There may have only been four of us, but I'm still happy. I was about to jog almost all of the first mile, that is also an accomplishment for me. I really need to start training again, I enjoy this too much to only run once a month.

I hope everyone has had a great Labor Day weekend!

Time for an update

So, as of yesterday we have been married two months! While it is all very exciting, I have to admit that very little has changed.  In those two months we've laughed, loved, and ate a lot.  We have both been testing ourselves in the kitchen and have served each other under-cooked raw chicken. We've put away most of the wedding gifts, still no place to safely store the china. And for the most part I remember to use my new last name when asked.

Now that I am back to work we are getting use to a routine again.  Unfortunately, we do not share the same days off each week. I have normal weekends, while Pete is off on Wednesday and Thursday. That kinda sucks, because my work schedule is pretty much the complete opposite of Pete's. I wake up on week days at 4:15 and I am out the door by 5, Pete doesn't have to be at work until 10 or 11. I get a break in the middle of the day and then work again from 1 to 4ish, Pete doesn't get home some nights until almost 10. Needless to say, some days we may only get a glimpse of each other as one of us is running out the door for work.  On nights that it is possible, we do try to sit down and have dinner together, but I usually go to bed right after.

In other news, I am very excited because next Saturday football season starts! Auburn has their first game next Saturday and I absolutely can't wait to watch it. I make no attempt to guess what this season will hold, but I will watch every game and will be wearing orange and navy every Saturday for the next few weeks. So, WAR DAMN EAGLE! Let the fun begin!

I have completely stopped running again, and I haven't been able to do another 5K. This really upsets me, but I have no one to blame but myself. I hope that once we are a few more weeks into the school year and I get better adjusted to my earlier work schedule I will find some energy and start running again. I also have been fighting a cold for the past week, the joys of working with children.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I did it!

Well, it has been a busy week. Wednesday I started back to work. It was a day full of meetings. We also decided Wednesday night that Pete would go out of town for work, starting Friday. So, I decided to register for a 5k. On Friday morning I left for work at 5:20 and then at 8 Pete left to go out of town. He will be back this coming Wednesday, the first day of school. This is only his second business trip, and I'm still getting use to having a husband that travels. That is why I decided to do my first 5k this weekend.

So, this morning I woke up just a little later than I would on a work day and got ready for my race. It was a great experience! I ended up finishing in about 38 minutes. I am so proud of myself for finally doing this! I NEVER thought I would be able to complete a 5k, and now that I have I just want to keep going!

So, now I have a few more days until Pete comes home, and I'm still trying to get back in the swing of a work schedule. My schedule is a little different earlier than it was last year, so I'm guess that it will take me a few weeks to get use to things. I am happy to be back to work though, and to have a daily schedule.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

time for an update

I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I would do a quick update. As of last Monday, we have officially been husband and wife for a month! My employer has officially changed my name and all of that good stuff. We really haven't done too much recently. We did have a first for us though, last Thursday night the dinner I cooked made Pete sick. I knew it would happen and it sucked just as much as I thought it would. Saturday, we had our shower/reception to celebrate with the extended family and friends that couldn't make it to the wedding. We had a decent turn out and received a lot of amazing stuff. We used some of our gift cards to buy a Soda Stream, which is turning out to be really awesome! A bonus to have this celebration a month after the wedding was that we received a canvas print of one of our wedding pictures, a framed honeymoon picture, and a calendar made out of our honeymoon pictures! We also got some AMAZING Kenneth Cole Reaction towels. I know they are pricey, but they are like wrapping up in a cloud! Because we had a good bit of people not show up to the shower, and we bought way too many mason jars to be use as cups/favors, we now have about 50 pint size mason jars just sitting in our very small kitchen. I'm constantly looking to pintrest for something to do with them, because I do not can anything.

Wednesday marks the beginning of the school year for me, I go back to work at 6:45 AM. That means, as of 6:46 AM Wednesday  I will start my countdown to the end of the school year! I am a 185 day employee, so I will not see my students until August 7. I just hope that this year is a little easier than last year, but we'll see what happens.

Tomorrow, I am keeping my nephews for a larger portion of the day. They are 5 and 22 months old. I do not exactly have a house that is ready for children. Don't get me wrong, we don't have breakable and expensive stuff everywhere, we just don't have a lot of toys and activities for children. I'm both excited and nervous about this. My hope is that the weather isn't terribly hot or raining and we can spend a good bit of time at the local park.

I hope everyone has a good week!

Five on Friday

Its that time again. Along with not posting a lot this week, I also have not done my training. In the mix of rain, heat, and trying to get our lawn taken care of it just didn't happen. Tuesday, we thought we had our lawn mower fixed; so while my husband used the weed eater, I cut the grass. About a quarter of the way through the lawn mower blew up. And that is just the kind of week it has been around here. So, here is my Five on Friday.

1. Royal Baby Watch- Yes, I am one of those crazy people that can't wait for this baby to be born. My grandmother loved Princess Diana, and her love of the royals rubbed off on me.

2. Food(again)- I have no idea why but all I want to do is eat, this is really not a good thing!

3. Disney- I know I just spent a week there for our honeymoon, but I'm already dying to go back! I absolutely love Disney World, it is easily my favorite place to go. I don't care how old you are Disney World is magical, and it is always such a good time. I really could not have imagined a better place for our honeymoon. Pete and I both love Disney movies, and really all things Disney, so it was so special to start our married life there!
4. Going back to work- My summer break is almost over and this week has been spent getting some things back in order to go back to work. I'm not looking forward to waking up super early again, and dealing with some of the adults, but for the most part I do miss the kids and I look forward to seeing them again.

5. Rain- There have been 2 days it hasn't rained in the last week, maybe week and half.  Let me be more specific when I say rain, it has poured, knocked the power out kind of rain. I've told Pete that if this keep up we're are going to have to move to Florida. I can deal with the rain every day if we're closer to the ocean.

Weekend Recap

Oh hey, look, its Monday again.

I hope everyone had a good weekend, it is hard to consider Saturday and Sunday a weekend at this point because Pete works. His "weekend" starts tonight. But, here is a recap of I guess my weekend.

On Friday, Pete was actually working close to home so instead of getting home at 9:30/10 he was actually home at a decent time. There couldn't have been a better day for it because one of our dogs had been sick all day, I was over it.

Saturday was 100% boring. I really didn't do anything other than dishes while Pete was at work. But, the sound on our television went out. So, when Pete got home that meant he had to take the no longer working TV out of the living room and switch it with the one that wasn't being used in the spare room. Then, before bed I made the mac n cheese for our fried mac n cheese that we were going to have with dinner last night.

Yesterday was kinda a day from hell. I got up when Pete left for work to start work on the mac n cheese again. It had been in the refrigerator over night, next it had to be shaped into the balls and put in the freezer for a few hours. I made myself breakfast and started towels when one of our dogs really started crying. This time he was horribly sick, I guess our dogs just wanted to take turns. So, I took care and cleaned up after him all day. I was also about to spare 30 minutes to go for my run, of course it started raining while I was out. When Pete got home we started cooking dinner. The fried mac n cheese was an absolute pain in the ass and not worth the trouble.

Now here we are on Monday, which means an exciting day of cleaning, paying bills and grocery shopping. I lead a very exciting life.

Here is my C210K check in from yesterday. I didn't do as long of a cool down as I normally do, I usually do just a little more than 5 minutes.

C210K Day 2 and Five on Friday

First off, I decided to switch to C210K because I would love to do a 10K and the program is the same, just a few extra weeks. Today, in the middle (and hottest part) of the day I did my run. It kicked my ass to say the least. But, it is finished and that is what matters.

Week 2 Day 2

Now for the fun stuff:

1. TRAINING- Easily this is what has dominated my thoughts this week. I'm happy to be back at and I'm very motivated for whats to come

2.MY NAME CHANGE- I'm happy to say that since last Wednesday, I have gone to all necessary government agencies and received all my new documents with my married name on them!

3. THE RAIN- It has rained almost every day for about three weeks now. This isn't typically for Georgia in July, and while a lot of people aren't loving, I am really appreciating the cooler weather.

4. IS IT FALL YET?- I can not count the number of times I have asked this question this week. I am so ready for pumpkins, the pretty leaves, and more than anything FOOTBALL SEASON! On that note, WAR DAMN EAGLE!
a very old picture, but I love it

5. FOOD- All I have wanted to do this week is eat! Mostly Mexican food, but really anything.

I guess that's it for this week! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

C25K Check In

I was able to get my run in last night! It stormed a few hours after I went out so the weather was actually kinda nice. I didn't start over at the beginning, instead I went back to week 2 day 1. I think that was a good choice because the run wasn't too easy or too difficult to get back into. My stats aren't great, but that isn't why I'm doing this. Right now I just care about finishing each run. After I got home I picked out some local races over the next few months, so I have goals to work towards. I haven't registered of any yet, but that's the next step.

C25K Take 2

Back in April I was sitting at home on my mid-day break and decided that I needed to start running. I have been talking about want to do a 5k for months years, but I never actually started running. So, I went to the app store and downloaded a running app, went outside and ran. Yeah, instead of jogging I ran, awful idea! I made it less than half way through the workout and gave up. I posted about it on Facebook and quickly found out that a lot of my friends were using C25K and loved it. That weekend I used C25K and loved it! I did very well with the program until early June. The weather got hotter, I was thrown into last minute wedding planning...list 100 other excuses, I stopped running. I have hated it since I stopped, but once again, I just didn't get out and run. When I was doing the program I felt great! Physically I was learning so much about my body and loving pushing through the pain and accomplishing each workout. Emotionally running did wonders for me, I have always heard people say "running is cheaper than therapy" and thought they were full of it. But as someone who struggles with depression and anxiety running actually helped me A LOT(way more than my psychiatrist does). I was proud of myself for working so hard, and I just gave up. Well, I'm tired of the excuses and feeling the way I do. Tonight, I'm going out and starting over again. I'm posting though, so if anyone is reading this blog I can be held accountable. I need someone asking me if I did my run, how it was, or just reminding me to get off the couch. Having an accountability partner makes it better. So, hopefully the next time I post, I will have completed one or two workouts. To hold myself accountable I will be posting pictures from the app I use when I'm running. Take 2...here we go!

The wedding is over....back to planning

One night in February, I hit my breaking point with wedding planning and the stress that it brings. I looked at Pete and said, " Can we just forget all of our plans and get married on the beach this summer?" And because he is such an amazing person, his response was, "Whatever you want to do babe, if you're happy, I'm happy." So, we sat down with my dad, talked things out and that weekend contacted a company on Tybee Island. Our wedding was originally scheduled for the fall of this year, as we got more into planning we found out that most Saturdays were already booked at venues we liked and our only options were to do a Friday or Sunday wedding. Plus, we had not even thought about planning a honeymoon because I would have to take time off work for us to go on one. So, changing the wedding plans meant moving the wedding up 6 months. Thankfully our families were very understanding, especially Pete's considering they had to travel from Florida, Kansas, and Hawaii(they only had 4 months to make these arrangements).

As soon as the changes were made though, I immediately felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. The wedding was paid for, the officiant was booked, and anything else to be planned were just details. Because we changed the wedding, we knew we didn't want all of our friends and family members to feel obligated to be there. We knew that it just wasn't right to expect people to spend extra money and take time off work to travel to our wedding, so we kept the guest list to just immediate family. Rewind to two weeks ago; the wedding weekend and ceremony were more perfect for us than anything else we could have planned. Everything was so relaxed and intimate that it let us completely experience the joy of what was happening.

Well, now that we're back home, we are having a reception to celebrate with everyone at home. That means back to planning! Back to making guest list, making invitations, getting in touch with people, and deciding what exactly we want it to be like. And, since I have been eating like a pig since the wedding, worrying about fitting into my dress, again! Thankfully, I have family members that are pretty much taking control of everything and just telling me when I need to show up! I'm very excited to have to opportunity to celebrate this occasion with everyone, but I will be thankful to have all of the parties finished so that I can send out 'thank you' notes and then not look at an address list again until its time to mail our Christmas cards!

Trying this out

First off I want to say that this blog is being created from pure boredom.  I am off work during the summer, and since summer started I have been sitting at home with nothing to do and read blogs that I enjoy.  The only time this hasn't happened this summer was the week of our wedding and honeymoon. So, I thought I might start a blog for our family and friends to follow along with our life. Or for everyone to just laugh at.

We were married on June 22nd, so far we have survived two weeks of married life. After the wedding we spent our honeymoon at Disney World. Its pretty hard not to have a great first week of marriage when you're someplace like Disney. The drive home was when we were hit by the real world, simply because most of the way home it rained like crazy! Once home we received a warm welcome from our dogs in the form of accidents to clean up and baths to be given before we could even unpack our car. Yep, the honeymoon was definitely over and it was time for real married life to start.

Before we got married I started trying to convince my husband that I knew how to cook. Thanks to pintrest I am able to kind of pull this off. Our first night home after our honeymoon I had these wonderful ideas of making a nice dinner and using our brand new dishes to celebrate being married for a week. Instead, we went out to dinner to celebrate our first week of marriage, because I was too lazy to cook. Since then, in two out of 3 times I have cooked dinner, I have burned myself twice. I was able to get out of dinner one night because the power was out, it came back on as we were walking out the door so I quickly hit the light switch and said it was still out.

We also celebrated the 4th of July this week, and what's more American than a baseball game? As soon as we got to our seats it started raining. We sat through an hour and a half rain delay, that should have been our first clue to leave. Once the game started again it proved to be the worst baseball game I have ever seen. The game did not end until 11:30 at night, but because it was the 4th my husband insisted that we stay for the fireworks show. That turned out to be a little disappointing also.
While getting use to my husband being back at work, I have been making a scrapbook of our wedding photos. I quickly learned that scrapbooking is not something I am great at, and from now on I will stick to making a photo album online and having it mailed to me. At least the pictures are amazing, thanks to our wonderful photographer, Ashleigh Mallard Photography.

I hope everyone has a great week, and that this post wasn't too boring for you.
